Hi I'm James, a freelance photographer and filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia. I am passionate about landscape, wildlife and travel photography. I'll often be planning my next adventure and when I'm not out and about with a camera around my neck, I like to spend time at home editing my portfolio of images and video projects.
My journey into the world of photography and videography began during my studies of Biological Photography and Imaging as part of my BSc (Hons) Biology degree at the University of Nottingham. This is where I learnt and developed the creative skills and techniques for using traditional film SLR cameras. Building on the skills I had gained, I continued my studies in Art and Design Photography at New College Nottingham. It was here that I learnt about the traditional methods for developing black and white images in the darkroom, as well as honing my digital photography and editing skills. I also have a particular interest in timelapse photography and I'm in the process of building a portfolio of my work.
I have a wealth of professional experience in producing content across several fields, including architecture, real estate, events, travel and product photography, and I am available for assignments.
My photography work can be viewed through the galleries on this site and a showreel of my videography & video editing work is at the bottom of this page. For business enquiries or image licensing, please send me a message via the contact form.
